Capacity Building for the Implementation of the LIFE Programme in Latvia 2 (CAP LIFE LAT 2; LIFE24 CAP/LV/101234006) is a LIFE Programme project developed by the Ministry of Smart Administration and Regional Development.
The objective of the project is to increase the number of successful LIFE projects and improve the quality of applications in Latvia by providing support to both applicants and project beneficiaries.
This is the second LIFE capacity-building project in Latvia. CAP LIFE LAT 2 builds on the experience, databases, and tools developed during the first capacity-building project, addressing key barriers that hinder participation and reduce the quality of submitted applications. The project will enhance understanding of the LIFE Programme as a financial instrument and strengthen knowledge of environmental legislation and LIFE requirements.
It is expected that, during the implementation of the project, the participation of Latvian organisations in the LIFE Programme will increase by 15%, while the quality of submitted project applications will improve by 10%.
Within the project, the LIFE Help Desk established during the first capacity-building project will continue its work, providing consultations and guidance from experienced experts. The project will also organise regular training sessions for LIFE applicants and beneficiaries, as well as further develop various tools and materials useful for project applicants.
